Touring France By Car - Tres Bon!

I have promised the Missus that as soon as we get together a bit of cash, we can go to England for a vacation, and I can give her a look at the country I come from. I am also thinking that maybe we could take a side trip to France, as it is just across the English Channel, and has the advantage for me now, after living in North America for nearly 30 years, that I can feel comfortable driving on the right hand side of the road, which was a major reason I never took a trip there when I lived in England and was driving on the left.
Paris, of course, would be a 'must do', and there are plenty of good Paris Hôtels in which to stay. Touring around has it's advantages, and I for one will enjoy seeing the wine country of Bordeaux, again, there are some good Bordeaux Hôtels to stay at on short notice. Maybe I can work out a route that will allow a stopover at Toulouse - I always remember as a child seeing the name on the dial of the radio, before transistors had been invented, and apart from that the location is convenient for a nights stay while on the road, so it will be great to make use of the Toulouse Hôtels and their excellent service which I am told exceeds that of those in Paris.
Marseilles has always had a fascination for me, as I am attracted to the sea wherever I go, and a port town in particular is always interesting. I will be looking for Marseilles Hôtels that overlook the port area, and maybe spend a couple of days relaxing there. Overall, I should think that I will have to allow a full week for the France part of the trip, and maybe 2 weeks for the UK part.
